SUNNI
Have you ever wondered why you're really
here, who you really are, and what you're really capable
of?
Yah, I did too.
But like so many, I spent the majority of my life doubting,
fearing and running from all that called to me, and all
that came from me, because I believed in the story that "life
is hard" and "without pain there's no gain" and "some
people are just lucky- you're probably not one of them." and "you
have to transform what you do to fit the world if you want
to succeed, not the other way around" and many more stories
- all of which I'm sure you're familiar with. But through
a series of events which I lovingly call my "trail
of breadcrumbs from the universe", I began to find my way
back to the truths that I had always known deep down, but had
just forgotten along
the way.
The truths that I had known when I was a little
girl - when I laid on my floor in my nightgown with stacks
of picture books piled up around me, losing myself in the magic
and the tongue twisting poetry. The truths that
I had known when I sang made-up songs, and painted
silly pictures, and shared them shamelessly with whomever was
around me at the
time.
The truths I never doubted when I put my baby sister and
a gaggle of stuffed animals in a radio flyer
wagon and towed them down the block on rollerskates - to far-off
lands and magical realms - these were the times when I had
not yet forgotten.
I had not yet forgotten the truth that is
inherant to ALL OF US: that life is supposed to
be wonderful, it is supposed to be fun, it is supposed to
be magical, it is meant to be treasured, loved, and
adored in every precious moment. Life is a stage
that we get to play on for a time, and every waking moment
of it is
a gift. And we, ourselves, are a GIFT amongst
gifts. And when you realize this, you realize that anything
you do that brings joy to your
heart, and LIFE to your life, and grace to your spirit,
could never be wrong. It is your life that is calling you,
it calls you through that wonderful feeling that you feel when
you do what you LOVE... and it has been calling you every single
day, in every single moment, since the day you were born. And
when I came to remember this truth, and to try it on for myself...
it lit my little world on fire. :)
I stopped apologizing for myself, I started to
value my own unique voice, "way", and artistic style,
and lo-and-behold - my environment began to mirror that value.
Magic! :) And yet not magic at all, but mere alignment
with all you know yourself to be. Imagine the possibilities.
And so I did - I imagined the possibilities,
and I
began to create my art and writings from a place of pure inspiration
and pure joy, I simply began exploring and creating based on
what calls to me, rather
than on what I think others will approve of. I kept my heroe's
in my heart as inspiration, remembering the countless times
the world told them their creations were a "waste of time",
that they "did not fit", that they would "never
be sale-able",
that they "couldn't make a career out of them", and
how each and every one of them could have easily had the last
laugh, if they were the last-laughing
type. And so I chose, and I continually choose, to live
the life that I love, and BE the love that I AM,
and to trust that life will continue to line up behind me,
and open door after magical door towards my ever-unfolding,
ever-evolving, ever-expanding life experience. Just as it has
always done before.
It is my great hope that through my artwork and
writings, I may inspire - in any small way - you to do
the same. To follow your heart,, and
to live the life that you love and were meant to live! Trust
in the call of your own intuition, trust in the value of your
unique perspective, appreciate the differences all around you,
embrace who you are, and embrace who others are, just as
they are -- for we are all in this together.

little heart can handle.
